Effective August 26, 2026
Privacy without fine print.
ReadyKit is designed to work without an account, network connection, analytics SDK, or advertising identifier. This policy explains what stays on your device and what happens when you choose an external action.
Scope and developer identity
This Privacy Policy applies to the ReadyKit Android application, package com.readykit.prepare.guide, and this informational website. ReadyKit is independent educational software. The developer can be contacted using the address in section 08.
ReadyKit is not a government service, emergency service, real-time alert provider, or official representative of any source referenced in the app.
Information we collect or share
We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share personal information. ReadyKit contains no account system, advertising, analytics, tracking, crash-reporting service, cloud sync, or in-app purchase SDK.
The packaged Android app declares no permissions, including no Internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts, storage, or phone-call permission.
This website contains no account, form, advertising, analytics, or ReadyKit cookies. Its hosting provider may process basic request information, such as an IP address and browser details, to deliver and secure the website under the provider’s own terms.
Information stored on your device
If you use the checklist or family-plan features, ReadyKit stores the following in the app’s private local database:
- which emergency-kit items you mark as ready;
- your meeting point and out-of-area contact;
- family responsibilities you type into the plan.
This information is not sent to the developer. You can update it in the app. Clearing ReadyKit’s app data or uninstalling the app removes its local database, subject to the behavior of your Android device and any device-level backup tools you control. ReadyKit itself disables Android backup.
Actions that leave ReadyKit
System dialer
After a confirmation step, ReadyKit can open your device’s dialer with an emergency reference number prefilled. ReadyKit uses Android’s ACTION_DIAL; it cannot place the call itself and does not learn whether a call was made.
Share or print
If you choose to share or print a family plan, Android shows apps available on your device. You select the destination. Information you send is then handled by the selected app and its privacy terms.
Source links
The app lists public guidance sources. Choosing “View source in browser” opens an external browser. The destination website and browser may process data under their own policies; ReadyKit does not receive that activity.
Children’s privacy
ReadyKit does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else. The app is educational and may be used by families under the supervision appropriate for their circumstances.
Security and retention
Local checklist and family-plan data are protected by Android’s application sandbox. Because ReadyKit does not operate a server, we do not retain a server-side copy. Device access, screen locks, installed keyboards, sharing destinations, and device-level backups are controlled by you and your platform provider.
Changes to this policy
If ReadyKit’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before the related app release. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
